Job summary

Scheels in Springfield, IL is hiring a merchandiser to unload freight, stock shelves, and assist customers. You’ll follow merchandising guides, coordinate displays with shop managers, and keep back stock organized.

The role requires a high school diploma (GED acceptable) and 1–3 months of related experience. Flexible schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, with full-time hours and solid benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Unload product from freight, tag, fold, hang, and price merchandise for sales floor or back stock.
  • Restock merchandise on the sales floor and bring products to display.
  • Assist customers and sales associates with retrieving and loading purchased products.
  • Follow Line Leader checklist, walk-through notes, and merch guides to prioritize shop needs.
  • Coordinate with Specialty Shop Managers and display teams on shop moves and mannequin placement.
  • Maintain an orderly store and back stock areas with general cleaning and organization.
  • Work independently and with the team; exercise judgment and tact with all levels of the organization.
  • Willing to perform other tasks assigned by leadership and Merchandising Lead.
  • Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Willing to do other tasks as assigned by the leadership team and Merchandising Lead
  • Work assigned schedule; may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1-3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation/Schedule:

Compensation for this position starts at $19.25 hourly. Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 8:00am-9:00pm Monday through Saturday and 10:00am-6:00pm Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, holidays. Average hours per week is 40 hours. Typical schedule includes a set day off during the week, set night to close during the week and every other weekend rotation.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.
