Job summary

Wismettac Asian Foods Inc. is seeking a Merchandiser responsible for stocking stores with the right products, delivering and auditing inventory, and creating appealing displays to boost sales at the branch level.

You will manage shelf standards, monitor backroom stock, coordinate with customers on issues, and handle shipping preparation while adhering to SOPs and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain store shelves to standards and ensure products are correctly displayed.
• Check shelves and backrooms for overstock, proper rotations, and dates.
• Communicate with customers to resolve problems and complaints.
• Deliver and pick up products and equipment as needed.
• Package finished products for shipping and stage for loading.
• Check purchase/work orders for correct assembly and delivery readiness.
• Unload products from trucks and stock designated areas.
• Ensure quality control and avoid sending or storing damaged products.
• Operate within standard operating procedures and forklift/pallet jacks.
• Provide fill-in support for other departments as needed.

Job description

Job Summary: The Merchandiser contributes to the branch office by optimizing branch sales and profits by ensuring that customers' stores are stocked with the right products. They are responsible for delivering merchandise to the store, stocking shelves, arranging, and maintaining product displays, and monitoring the store inventory. The Merchandiser will cultivate new and engaging ways to display and find the best spots to place products that will make them more appealing to customers.

Job Functions:

• Merchandiser store shelves. Maintain store shelves to standards of Wismettac and customers.
• Check shelves and backrooms for overstock, proper product rotations, and dates.
• Maintain regular contact with existing customers to field problems, concerns, and complaints resolving customer-related issues.
• Delivery & pick up products and equipment when necessary.
• Keep informed of new products and other general information.
• Package finished product for shipping (Shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
• Stages finished product for loading.
• Check purchase orders/ work orders to ensure that products are correctly assembled and ready for delivery.
• Check items to ensure that the correct number of products are being assembled.
• Unload products from trucks, and containers and stock them in the designated area.
• Responsible for quality control. Ensure that no damaged products are sent out, and no damaged products will be stored.
• Operate within standard operating procedures
• Operate with the forklift and/or palette jacks.
• Handle inventory movement into and out of controlled locations
• Provide fill-in support for other departments in the warehouse
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints.
• Principles, practices, and procedures of retail food operation.
• Working knowledge of the grocery business.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Ability to correctly follow a given rule or set of rules in order to arrange things or actions in a certain order.
• Ability to communicate and interact with other effects in a professional and flexible manner.
• Require considerable and strenuous physical exertion so incumbents should be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
• Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance.
• Available to work extended hours.
