Job summary

Goodwill Keystone Area is seeking a Merchandise Processor to support donated goods operations. The role focuses on processing textiles and other donations, pricing, tagging, stocking, and rotating products to meet store goals.

You will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, ensuring quality standards, assisting customers and donors, and contributing to overall store operations. Flexible hours, including weekends, may be required to support peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Process textile donations including sorting, pricing, tagging, and moving product to the sales floor.
• Process donations of housewares, electronics, shoes, and other items as part of daily operations.
• Organize and rotate sales floor merchandise to meet production goals.
• Follow quality and production standards set by Goodwill Keystone Area.
• Maintain daily production tracking and report to supervisor.
• Provide courteous customer service to donors and customers.
• Support daily operations and participate in special events as needed.

Summary

Provide essential support in overall operations and customer service with a main focus on processing all donations, including sorting, hanging, pricing, tagging, stocking and rotating product while adhering to all production and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Process textile donations, including sorting, hanging, pricing, tagging, and moving product to the sales floor to meet preset production and sales goals for the store.
• Process donations of housewares, electronics, media, shoes, and other miscellaneous items, including sorting, pricing, tagging, and moving product to the sales floor to meet preset production and sales goals for the store.
• Organize, recover and rotate the sales floor as needed.
• Follow all quality and production standards as set by Goodwill Keystone Area.
• Track production daily and report to supervisor.
• Be knowledgeable of daily, weekly and monthly production and sales goals.
• Select appropriate items for the Ecommerce department.
• Assist and provide flexibility in overall daily operations within the store.
• Ensure that quality customer service is presented and provided in a timely and courteous manner to all customers, donors and other employees.
• Support, promote and participate in organizational programs and special events.
• Assist in any other assignments designated by management.
• Adhere to all Goodwill Keystone Area manuals, handbooks, policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the organization by supporting additional tasks and projects as needed.
• Promote an environment of workplace safety and ensure duties are performed safely.
• Communicate progress, problems, and concerns to the Production Manager.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• No formal education necessary.
• Must be 18 years of age or older to ensure full availability for all required work shifts and meet compliance requirements related to state and federal child labor laws.

Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
• Meet qualitative and quantitative performance standards.
• Work in an open warehouse environment exposed to various weather and temperature conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and cold.
• Learn and use equipment and technology.
• Follow verbal instructions and work as part of a team.
• Adaptability and flexibility.
• Work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Stand continuously for more than 75% of the shift.
• Bend forward or to the side 60 degrees to remove or place items into various carts for 50% of the shift.
• Stand continuously with the neck bent forward 30 degrees for more than 75% of the shift.
• L lift 50 pounds from ground level to waist level for 25% of the shift.
• L lift 25 pounds every few minutes for more than 75% of the shift.
• Push and pull various carts requiring a force of 25 pounds over a distance of 100 feet for 25% of the shift.
• Perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions every few seconds for more than 75% of the shift.
