Crate and Barrel is seeking a Merchandise Handler II to support our distribution center operations in Newton, NC. The role focuses on inspecting local delivery items for quality, coordinating repairs, and ensuring safe, timely delivery to customers.

You will rotate through departments, participate in training on upgrades, and execute tasks to meet daily productivity and quality goals, all while maintaining strong communication with the delivery team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience preferred
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Responsibilities

• Inspect all local delivery items for product quality, consistency, characteristics, damage, dye lot and finish
• Work and coordinate with furniture shop technicians for repairs and touch ups prior to delivery
• Communicate with delivery department Lead on all issues related to product inspections and delivery status of workload daily
• Assist merchandise handlers with organization and verification of all items for local deliveries
• Cleans up and disposes boxes, packing material and pallets, as well as general housekeeping of facility and specific product line areas
• Rotates through different departments, as necessary, to meet the demands of the business
• Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
• Performs all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals

A day in the life as a Merchandise Handler II...

• Inspect all local delivery items for product quality, consistency, characteristics, damage, dye lot and finish
