Job Overview

The Merchandise Handler performs a variety of distribution activities to receive, sort, store, distribute, and manage the flow of product in a warehouse environment.

Schedule and Compensation

• Scheduled Days: Monday through Friday
• Scheduled Hours: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Hourly Rate: $19.00

Responsibilities

1. Unload merchandise from trailers, check goods against purchase orders or invoices.
2. Stack and load cartons for outbound shipment; stock shelves with received goods.
3. Maintain and verify records of goods received or shipped.
4. Operate material handling equipment safely, using tools like pallet handlers and hand trucks.
5. Select and pick products for shipment, matching inventory with orders.
6. Prepare merchandise for shipping using shrink wrap or other devices.
7. Use RF devices to scan and track materials.
8. Perform other duties as assigned, with time spent on each task varying as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• At least 18 years old
• High School diploma or GED
• 0-1 years of experience in Distribution, Warehouse, Supply Chain, or similar
• Commitment to safety protocols
• Ability to do basic math accurately
• Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to meet productivity standards
• Reliable attendance

Licenses & Certifications

• Ability to be trained and licensed/certified to operate material handling equipment

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for 8+ hours, covering 5-10 miles
• Lift and lower 50-85 lbs occasionally
• Frequent lifting of 20-50 lbs
• Physical agility and mobility for various movements and tasks
• Work in all weather conditions, including indoors and outdoors

Work Environment

• Distribution warehouse environment, may involve exposure to heat, cold, chemicals
• Active and physical work, may require extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays
• Use of personal protective equipment as required
