The Merchandise Financial Planning team is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic financial plans that align with the company’s overarching goals. In collaboration with the Assortment Planning and Inventory Optimization teams, they ensure financial strategies drive profitability and efficiency.

In this role, you will manage the Open-to-Buy (OTB) and Promotional Strategy end-to-end, ensuring financial discipline while maximizing sales and margin opportunities.

Success in this role requires a deep understanding of business dynamics, the ability to translate complex needs into comprehensive financial plans, and a forward-thinking approach to problem-solving. You will thrive in an environment that values innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement, consistently refining planning methodologies to optimize performance.

Your Role as a Merchandise Financial Planner:

  • Preseason Planning – Owner within the Global Buy Review process, reflecting: Merchandising Building Blocks, Channel contribution, Comparative vs Total sales plans, ASP growth, Promotional strategy, and Inventory planning.
  • Weekly Trade Review – Own and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver trade reviews that guide partners on performance to plan and actions taken to drive sell-out optimization.
  • Manage end-to-end the Monthly Open-To-Buy process to set sales and stock targets by week/channel, reflecting recent trends and promotional adjustments. Measure OTB against original plans.
  • Effectively communicate wholesale revenue status and opportunities monthly.
  • Build tools and reporting to support wholesale revenue from a merchandising perspective.
  • Assess promotional effectiveness to inform future promotional calendars.
  • Partner and collaborate with our commercial finance partners on future risks and opportunities against the latest forecast.

  • 5+ years of solid experience in Merchandising and/or experience in retail, fashion, lifestyle, or FMCG industry.
  • Strong, seasoned, technical merchandise planner / OTB manager with vertical retailing, omni-experience.
  • Strong business acumen, fact-based, analytical, and strategic.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large data sets and present results simply.
  • Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities.
  • Able to perform under pressure, organize, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to be part of a team, set challenging standards, develop partnerships, and lead others to action.
  • Strong presentation skills, including concise messaging.
  • Support an environment that fosters respect for ideas and ongoing collaboration.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quick aptitude to learn technical applications (like MS Access, Hyperion, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of planning software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00, commensurate with experience
