Job summary

Buck Mason in Los Angeles is seeking a Planning and Merchant Operations Associate to support the merchandising team from buy sheets to post-launch reporting. This hands-on role is ideal for someone early in their merchandising career who loves products, thrives on data, and enjoys clean, accurate spreadsheets.

You will collaborate across product development, design and production, maintain data, build weekly and monthly reports, and help keep calendars on track while learning from senior buyers

Qualifications

• 2-4 years in merchandising, buying, planning, or merchandising operations.
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables and lookups.
• Detail-oriented with focus on data accuracy across multiple workstreams.
• Organised and proactive; can juggle multiple tasks without dropping work.
• Exposure to PLM/ERP or inventory systems is a plus; willingness to learn.
• Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support buying/planning teams with seasonal buy sheets, line lists, and assortment plans.
• Prepare materials for line reviews and seasonal hand-offs — decks, notes, follow-ups.
• Maintain product information across merchandising systems (style numbers, descriptions, attributes).
• Partner with product development, design and production to align data across platforms; chase missing information.
• Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders with accuracy on styles, quantities, costs.
• Process PO revisions, cancellations, extensions; communicate updates to cross-functional teams.
• Own SKU setup in our systems before POs go out the door.
• Build and distribute weekly/monthly sell-through, in-stock position, on-order, and KPIs reports.
• Pull ad-hoc data for best/worst sellers, size curves, vendor performance.
• Help maintain merchandising calendar and flag at-risk milestones.
• Surface trends and anomalies in data.
