Job summary

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland is seeking a part-time Merch Crew – Sales Associate to energize the store and support daily processes. You will maintain product and visual standards while aligning with the Museum's goals and culture.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of high-volume retail experience, strong customer service skills, and a passion for rock history. Flexible weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in an enthusiastic and courteous manner; provide outstanding customer service.
  • Stock and clean the store for the best sales appearance and ease of use for the customer.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of all merchandise to accurately inform customers; stay updated on new product lines.
  • Assist with merchandising, displays, and floor moves as needed.
  • Duties include but may not be limited to the above.

Summary

The Sales Associate drives the energy within the Rock Hall store. They are a positive team player through supporting daily processes, maintaining product and visual standards, and adapting in the fast-paced store environment. They are energized, curious and take the initiative to understand the Museum goals. They build relationships naturally through being open, engaging and embracing individuality & style.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Assists customers in an enthusiastic and courteous manner; provides outstanding customer service.
  • Stocks & cleans the store for the best sales appearance and ease of use for the customer.
  • Develops & maintains knowledge of all merchandise in selling area to effectively assist customers with accurate information; keeps current as new product lines are introduced.
  • Assists with merchandising efforts, displays, and floor moves as needed.
  • Duties include but may not be limited to the above.

Other Requirements
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; must be able to work at least one weekend shift each weekend.

  • Ability to successfully pass a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame background investigation and drug screen.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Environmental Parameters: Ability to work in a window-less office. Ability to work in an environment with loud noise, such as house music.
  • Physical Demands:
  • Strength: Ability to lift/move items weighing up to 20 lbs. (approximately)
  • Type: Express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word and to perceive nature of sounds. Ability to hear accurately to interact with the public and co-workers. Demonstrate clarity of vision; judge distance and space relationships; identify and distinguish colors, numbers, and figures. Ability to visually determine the accuracy of work done and observe/assess possible threats to safety. Ability to ascend or descend ladders and stairs. Ability to bend body downwards and forward by bending spine at waist to access areas closer to the ground. Ability to bend legs at knee. Ability to extend arms and hands in any direction. Ability to use upper extremities to exert force to move an object forward, and to tug behind. Ability to raise objects from a lower position to a higher position. Ability to perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, and characteristics. Ability to perform tasks concurrently. Work involves walking and standing most of the time but will also involve sitting for periods of time.

  • Motor Coordination: Ability to make necessary movements in selecting, picking and depositing items.
  • Finger Dexterity: Ability to pick, pinch or otherwise work with fingers to operate above equipment. Ability to pick up a variety of items and place them on shelves; to move knobs, buttons or switches.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with hands. Ability to shake, sort, fold or stack items; to place and retrieve items.
