Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture seeks a Manager, Merch Analytics Hindsight to lead the post-season and post-launch analytical discipline for the Merchandise organization. This role builds the hindsight framework across assortment, promotions, and NPI outcomes and translates findings into actionable recommendations for planning cycles.

The ideal candidate is analytically rigorous and comfortable presenting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related analytical field and 6+ years of financial/merch analytics experience.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills are required.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Ability to translate complex analysis into concise, actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; attention to detail and analytical integrity.

Responsibilities

• Own the hindsight calendar and cadence across all merchandise categories.
• Build standardized hindsight templates for sell-through, margin realization, forecast accuracy, markdown effectiveness, and inventory productivity.
• Maintain data lineage and definitions to ensure trusted, comparable outputs.
• Deliver the hindsight package with findings and prioritized recommendations to Merchants and senior leadership.
• Analyze assortment performance, promotions, and NPI hindsight to inform planning cycles.
• Measure demand and margin forecast accuracy; partner with Demand Planning on root causes.
