Job summary

Bob's Discount Furniture is seeking a Manager, Merch Analytics Hindsight to lead the enterprise post-season and post-launch analytics for the Merchandise organization. You will quantify performance, translate findings into actionable recommendations, and influence assortment, pricing, and demand planning cycles.

This role requires rigorous analysis from SKU-level data to executive storytelling, partnering with Merchants and Planning leadership to drive better decisions and business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related analytical field.
• 6+ years of experience in financial analysis, merchandise finance, retail analytics, FP&A, or similar.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau for data visualization.
• Ability to translate complex analysis into concise, actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own the hindsight calendar and cadence across post-season, post-promotion, and post-launch reviews.
• Build standardized hindsight templates for sell-through, margin realization, forecast accuracy, markdowns, and inventory productivity.
• Maintain data lineage and definitions to ensure reliable, comparable outputs.
• Deliver the hindsight package with findings and prioritized recommendations to leadership.
• Quantify SKU and category-level productivity to inform future assortments.
• Measure promotional and pricing hindsight for impact on margin and lift.
• Evaluate NPI performance against forecasts and integrate learnings.
• Own measurement of demand and margin forecast accuracy and bias.
• Close the loop by translating insights into changes in assortment, pricing, or planning assumptions.
