Job summary

Erland Construction is seeking a MEPFP Systems Estimator to prepare estimates for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection trades, collaborating with the estimating team, architects, and clients across all design phases.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering or equivalent background with 4–8 years of commercial estimating experience. Proficiency in HVAC knowledge and Takeoff software is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant industry experience.
• 4 - 8 years of experience in commercial mechanical estimating; plumbing, fire protection, or electrical estimating is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (rooftop, hydronic, exhaust, etc.).
• Understanding of other specialty systems (process piping) is a plus.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel; On-Screen Takeoff and Autodesk Takeoff.
• Must be able to navigate a job site, potentially rough terrain.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-bid plan review for MEPFP scopes across all project types.
• Complete itemized quantity take-off and price estimating for MEPFP trades.
• Work with estimators on analysis of subcontractor bids and proposals.
• Attend project interviews and estimating review sessions with the Erland team, architects, engineers, and clients.
• Utilize historical data and industry benchmarks to develop estimates.
• Facilitate subcontractor buyout of project MEPFP systems.
• Pre-purchase long lead MEPFP equipment to protect schedules.
• Lead and support Value Engineering on MEPFP systems.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
