Job summary

TYG is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager in Texas to lead major data center projects from preconstruction through turnover on-site, leveraging a strong GC or electrical contractor background.

You will oversee electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, manage RFIs and submittals, coordinate with BIM/VDC teams, and drive procurement, commissioning, and closeout to deliver safe, high‑quality systems on schedule.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction experience with significant MEP project management experience.
• Background with a General Contractor and/or Electrical Contractor.
• Data center/mission-critical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical, plumbing, and fire protection subcontractors.
• Support preconstruction, estimating, scope development, and trade partner selection.
• Oversee RFIs, submittals, procurement, and long-lead equipment.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, change orders, and subcontractor payments.
• Coordinate MEP installation and scheduling with the Superintendent and field teams.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to resolve project issues.
• Oversee MEP coordination with BIM/VDC teams and resolve design clashes.
• Track equipment and material procurement against project schedules.
• Ensure MEP work meets project specifications, quality, and safety standards.
• Coordinate equipment startup, testing, and commissioning.
• Support functional and integrated systems testing with the commissioning team.
• Manage deficiencies, punch lists, closeout, and final turnover documentation.

We are working with a widely recognized General Contractor expanding its Mission Critical team in Texas and are seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to deliver major data center projects with a strong pipeline.

The role will oversee MEP delivery from preconstruction and procurement through installation, commissioning, and turnover. Candidates should have a strong MEP construction background, ideally within a General Contractor or Electrical Contractor, with data center or mission-critical experience highly preferred.

Ideal Background

• 10+ years of construction experience with significant MEP project management experience.
• Background with a General Contractor and/or Electrical Contractor.
• Profound knowledge of electrical construction knowledge.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and trade partners.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, procurement, change management, and project financials.
• Experience delivering large, technically complex projects.
• Data center / mission-critical experience is preferred.
• MEP professionals from semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or healthcare construction backgrounds will also be considered.
