Job summary

M.C. Dean in Tysons, VA is seeking an experienced MEP Project Engineer to support planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on commercial construction projects in Northern Virginia and surrounding areas.

You will collaborate with project teams to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with design intent. The role requires on-site support at facilities in Northern Virginia and Waynesboro, PA, with travel between locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or related degree with 0+ years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of cooling systems, electrical distribution, plumbing systems, and building codes.
  • Proficiency with construction documents, submittal processes, and project management workflows.
  • Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SolidWorks and MS Project (or similar).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problemsolving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with field teams and subcontractors.
  • This role requires providing on-site support at facilities throughout Northern Virginia and Waynesboro, PA. Travel between these locations is required.
  • Travel up to 50% may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day project operations.
  • Coordinate MEP activities with subcontractors, design teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Track RFI responses, change orders, and field directives.
  • Provide engineering support for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Perform field inspections to verify installation quality and adherence to design intent.
  • Identify constructability issues and propose solutions early in the project lifecycle.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and turnover activities.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, logs, and progress reports.
  • Assist with schedule updates, procurement tracking, and cost control efforts.
  • Prepare technical reports, meeting minutes, and coordination summaries.
  • Ensure MEP work meets company quality standards and industry best practices.
  • Support site safety initiatives and help enforce compliance with safety protocols.

We are seeking a highly capable and wellrounded MEP Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on commercial construction projects in the Tysons region. Responsibilities

Project Coordination

Pay Range
