Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking an ambitious MEP Program & Client Leadership Lead in Austin, TX. You will serve as a senior client executive, overseeing major contracts, programs, and client satisfaction while guiding project managers and technical teams across offices.

The role requires an established Austin network, a strong technical background in MEP, and a proven track record in business development and strategic client growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, construction management, business, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in MEP consulting, engineering, architecture, construction, or a related AEC environment.
  • Established client relationships throughout Austin, TX.
  • Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background with technical credibility.
  • Proven experience leading business development, client development, pursuits, and revenue or backlog growth.
  • Experience overseeing programs, projects, contracts, financial performance, risk, and client issues.
  • Experience leading major, complex, or multi-million-dollar projects or portfolios.
  • Executive communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership and support to Project Managers and design teams across strategic programs and contracts.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for client, contract, scope, risk, schedule, quality, and financial issues.
  • Lead client account strategies, strengthen relationships, identify opportunities for expanded services and future work.
  • Drive strategic pursuits, including opportunity qualification, go/no-go, teaming, scope development, fee strategy, and proposal oversight.
  • Oversee contract administration, risk mitigation, Work at Risk approvals, ASRs, and policy compliance.
  • Monitor project performance including scope, schedule, quality, budget, utilization, profitability, and margins.
  • Collaborate with leadership to advance market, sector, and client growth priorities.
  • Build relationships with owners, architects, contractors, developers, and industry partners.
  • Coach Project Managers to promote consistent project management and financial practices.
  • Represent Glumac professionally with an entrepreneurial marketplace approach.

The Opportunity:

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven leader to help shape the future of our Austin, TX office. As MEP Program & Client Leadership Lead, you will combine executive program oversight, client relationship management, business development, and market leadership to expand our impact across Austin, TX. This is an opportunity to influence major projects, strengthen key accounts, support high-performing teams, and help grow Glumac's presence in healthcare, education, advanced manufacturing, commercial, and other priority markets.

Position Summary:

The MEP Program & Client Leadership Lead will serve as a senior client executive and program leader for a portfolio of strategic contracts and initiatives. The role will provide oversight of project delivery, financial performance, contracts, risk, pursuits, and client satisfaction while supporting Project Managers and technical teams across multiple offices and disciplines. The ideal candidate brings strong MEP consulting credibility, a proven record of winning work, and the executive presence to build trusted relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide senior leadership and support to Project Managers and design teams across strategic programs and contracts.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for client, contract, scope, risk, schedule, quality, and financial issues.
  • Lead client account strategies, strengthen existing relationships, and identify opportunities for expanded services and future work.
  • Drive strategic pursuits, including opportunity qualification, go/no-go recommendations, teaming, scope development, fee strategy, and proposal oversight.
  • Oversee contract administration, risk mitigation, Work at Risk approvals, ASRs, and compliance with Glumac policies and approval limits.
  • Monitor project and program performance, including scope, schedule, quality, budget, utilization, profitability, and target margins.
  • Collaborate with regional and national leadership to advance market, sector, and client growth priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, architects, contractors, developers, and other industry partners.
  • Coach and support Project Managers while promoting consistent project management, operational, and financial practices.
  • Represent Glumac with professionalism, credibility, and an entrepreneurial approach in the marketplace.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, construction management, business, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in MEP consulting, engineering, architecture, construction, or a related AEC environment.
  • Established client and industry relationships throughout Austin, TX.
  • Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background with the technical credibility to engage clients and project teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading business development, client development, pursuits, and revenue or backlog growth.
  • Proven experience overseeing programs, projects, contracts, financial performance, risk, and client issues.
  • Experience supporting or leading major, complex, or multi-million-dollar projects or portfolios.
  • Strong executive communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead collaboratively across offices, disciplines, market sectors, and project teams.
  • Sound judgment, commercial awareness, accountability, and the ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Experience in education, advanced manufacturing, commercial, or other strategic AEC markets.
  • Previous experience as a Regional Director, Practice Leader, Market or Sector Leader, Client Executive, Program Director, Office Leader, Principal, or Associate Principal.
  • Experience with contract negotiations, claims avoidance, risk management, and project recovery strategies.
  • Experience leading integrated teams across multiple offices and disciplines.
  • Track record of expanding client accounts and developing long-term strategic partnerships.
Work Environment and Location:

This position offers a hybrid work environment, with a requirement of two in-office days per week in our Austin, TX office. All candidates must be located in and eligible to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $180,000-$220,000

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the compensation scale for this role. Actual salaries will be determined based on location, experience, responsibilities, and qualifications. This salary range is just one component of Glumac's total compensation package, which includes benefits, professional development opportunities, and additional incentives.
