Job summary

STRM Recruiting seeks a detail‑oriented MEP Preconstruction Manager (Mechanical Focus) to lead the mechanical scope in preconstruction for large commercial projects. You will influence system selection, drive cost efficiency, and ensure a solid project setup before ground breaks.

You’ll combine engineering rigor with estimating and vendor management, coordinating with clients and project teams to deliver constructible, budget‑aligned designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field or 12+ years’ field experience.
• 8–12 years in MEP construction with 3 years in mechanical systems preconstruction.
• General contractor experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction for mechanical scope across HVAC, plumbing, and related systems.
• Develop detailed scopes of work and assist with value engineering.
• Prepare accurate mechanical estimates from concept to final design.
• Review bids and integrate MEP costs into project budgets.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and project teams for smooth handoffs.
