Job summary

McCownGordon Construction in Dallas seeks a design-focused professional to bridge MEP concepts with estimating and construction basics. You will support preconstruction and operations teams as an in-house resource, helping clients and associates understand project challenges and opportunities.

You will review drawings, assist with MEP bidding and coordination, and contribute to risk assessment and value engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Structural, Civil or Construction Engineering or Construction Science/Management.
5+ years experience as design engineer/consultant or trade partner preconstruction, management, or operations.
Knowledge of MEP terminology and construction procedures.
Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent time management and ability to build relationships with trade partners and consultants.

Responsibilities

Pursuit: Creates content for pursuits and speaks to MEP challenges and opportunities.
Document Review: Reviews drawings to identify optimal solutions and VE opportunities with MEP knowledge.
Estimating and Schedule: Assists with MEP estimating at design stages and tracks long-lead items.
Trade Partner Coordination: Identifies strengths and recommends partners for projects.
Bidding and Buyout: Reviews MEP scope and assists with bid evaluations and analysis.
Construction: Attends MEP meetings, reviews submittals and coordinates with teams.
Risk Management: Assists in planning and mitigating risks with trade partners.
