Job summary

McCownGordon Construction seeks an experienced professional to contribute to MEP design concepts, estimating, and construction basics within our preconstruction and operations teams.

You will provide industry knowledge as an in-house resource for associates and clients, attend interviews, review drawings, and help identify cost-saving opportunities through VE and accurate MEP estimates. This role requires collaboration across disciplines and strong communication with trade partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Structural, Civil or Construction Engineering or Construction Management.
• 5+ years experience as design engineer/consultant or trade partner preconstruction, management, or operations.
• Knowledge of MEP and construction terminology.
• Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• High level of time management and prioritization.
• Able to build new and retain relationships with trade partners and consultants by attending industry events.
• Able to work with a variety of internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Creates content for pursuits and attends project interviews to identify and speak to MEP challenges and opportunities.
• Reviews construction drawings to identify optimal and innovative solutions, potential scope gaps, overages and VE opportunities.
• Assists project team with MEP estimating at various design stages, reviews preconstruction and trade partner estimates and provides input related to engineering trades.
• Understands trade partners strengths and who to recommend for specific project types and assists preconstruction team with trade partner selection.
• Reviews MEP scope of work documents and assists preconstruction managers with MEP bid evaluations and provides analysis and makes recommendations.
• Attends MEP trade and/or consultant coordination meetings regularly and participates in site reviews and troubleshooting.
