Job summary

Bala Consulting Engineers, a multi-office engineering firm, seeks a Director of MEP Operations to expand its Baltimore region and lead cross-discipline teams. You will drive strategy, client relationships, and project performance while promoting Bala’s culture and growth across offices.

The role requires a PE license, a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and 15+ years of industry experience in PM and design. Exceptional leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 15+ years in engineering with proven PM and design track record.
• Experience in Commercial Development, Multifamily, Life Sciences, Education, or Corporate facilities preferred.
• Strong client relationships, influence, and leadership across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute short and long-term strategic plans and annual budgets.
• Drive revenue and profit goals and monitor company objectives.
• Define KPIs and ensure accountability for performance.
• Foster client relationships by understanding clients’ business models and offering tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-office teams to cross-sell services.
• Support business development through proposals, negotiations, and project delivery.
• Oversee recruitment and development of design and production staff.
• Maintain clear communications on goals, performance, and enterprise awareness.
