A leading national construction firm ranked among ENR’s Top 25 Contractors is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to lead and coordinate the commissioning process on large-scale mission critical projects, including high-profile data centers and other critical facilities.

About the Role:

The MEP Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of MEP trade commissioning, collaborating closely with project teams, owners, and vendors to ensure seamless integration and successful project delivery. This role requires strong leadership in managing subcontractors, driving quality assurance, and maintaining effective communication across multiple stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle—from construction through commissioning and turnover.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review contract documents and MEP submittals to ensure alignment with project specifications and requirements
• Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and design teams to integrate MEP systems efficiently
• Manage MEP subcontractors and owner-furnished equipment vendors from construction through commissioning phases
• Lead and implement comprehensive commissioning processes in accordance with industry best practices
• Oversee commissioning software tools for checklist completion and issue tracking
• Facilitate equipment walkdowns and sign-offs for energizations and tie-ins
• Develop and manage commissioning schedules in coordination with subcontractors and commissioning agents
• Participate in internal and client meetings related to turnover and commissioning activities
• Mentor and supervise project staff, fostering professional development

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP construction and commissioning management, preferably on mission critical projects
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems
• Strong understanding of applicable building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes
• Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Prior commissioning experience on mission critical projects highly preferred
