Job summary

Wohlsen Construction seeks an experienced MEP-focused project coordinator/manager to oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection aspects from pre-construction through post-construction stages. You will support the Project Team in all phases, ensuring code compliance, quality control, and on-schedule delivery.

Responsibilities include site inspections, BIM coordination with architectural drawings, and active participation in commissioning, submittals, and change orders.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Construction Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Three to Seven years of consistent and progressively responsible MEP construction experience.
• Experience in MEP construction project management with combined MEP contract values up to $5 million.
• Experience in at least one market sector such as healthcare, higher education, multifamily, senior living, laboratory, or commercial.
• Working knowledge of commissioning process and be able to manage the commissioning process.
• Working knowledge of BIM software such as Revit and/or Navisworks.
• Knowledge of MEP systems and controls and how they function; including chillers, boilers, HVAC pumps, VRF, PTAC, piping, fire protection and electrical systems.
• LEED Accreditation a plus.
• Understand MEP equipment and systems including chillers, boilers, HVAC pumps, FCU, WSHP, AHU, RTU, ERV, fans, VRF, and balance procedures.
• Working knowledge of building codes, NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, SMACNA and other authorities.
• Have a valid driver's license and transportation to support remote offices and job sites.

Responsibilities

• Visit project sites and provide site inspections of MEP installations.
• Monitor project adherence to plans, specifications, code, and industry standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, NEC).
• Oversee MEP installations for quality control.
• Maintain punch lists for MEP trades and complete weekly activity reports.
• Participate in submittal and change order processes for MEP phases.
• Assist with MEP coordination shop drawings and coordination with architectural drawings.
• Facilitate field coordination of all MEP phases.
• Interpret MEP drawings and specifications for the team.
• Monitor MEP contractors and assist with problem resolution.
• Assist with project scheduling and management for MEP phases.
• Collaborate with client, architects, and subcontractors.
• Participate in commissioning and preconstruction activities.
• Assist with estimating and constructability reviews.
• Develop scopes of work and support procurement for MEP trades.
• Collaborate with BIM Coordinator on BIM models and coordination drawings.
• Support subcontractor de-scope meetings and subcontract negotiations.
