Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an MEP Field Coordinator for on-site work on projects in Virginia. The role involves coordinating mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and special systems, and managing field teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of commercial construction experience with large MEP systems and strong communication and leadership skills. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Herndon/Culpeper/Richmond, VA.

About the Role

We are looking for an MEP Field Coordinator to join our MEP Building Technology team on our projects in Herndon, VA. Culpeper, VA. Richmond, VA. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and special systems coordination and installation for complex projects.
• Provide leadership and oversight to MEP trade partners and equipment vendors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Assist in developing and tracking schedules, monitoring QA/QC programs, and supporting the Energy Control and Safety Program.
• Manage punch lists, troubleshoot field engineering issues, and oversee start-up and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with project teams from pre-construction through commissioning and close-out to ensure successful delivery.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and design partners while supervising trade partners and vendors.

Qualifications

Required:

• 1-3 years of commercial construction experience with large, sophisticated MEP systems.
• Proven ability to manage workforce requirements, monitor project progress, and resolve field engineering challenges.
• Experience managing construction of complex MEP infrastructure projects such as data centers, airports, or other special-use facilities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills for managing client and trade partner relationships.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools and QA/QC processes.
