Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an MEP Field Coordinator to join our MEP Building Technology team on projects in Herndon, Culpeper, and Richmond, VA. This full‑time, in‑person role requires coordinating mechanical, electrical, plumbing and related systems to ensure successful delivery.

You will lead MEP trade partners, track schedules, support QA/QC programs, and assist with commissioning and start‑ups. Strong communication and a background in large MEP deployments are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of commercial construction experience with large MEP systems.
• Experience managing complex MEP infrastructure projects (data centers, airports, or similar).
• Strong communication and leadership for client and trade partner relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee MEP coordination and installation for complex projects.
• Provide leadership to MEP trade partners and equipment vendors for quality and compliance.
• Develop and track schedules; monitor QA/QC programs and energy/safety initiatives.
• Manage punch lists, field engineering issues; oversee start‑up and commissioning.
• Collaborate with project teams from pre‑construction to close‑out for successful delivery.
• Maintain strong client/design partner relationships while supervising trades and vendors.

About The Role

We are looking for an MEP Field Coordinator to join our MEP Building Technology team on our projects in Herndon, VA. Culpeper, VA. Richmond, VA. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and special systems coordination and installation for complex projects.


• Provide leadership and oversight to MEP trade partners and equipment vendors to ensure quality and compliance.


• Assist in developing and tracking schedules, monitoring QA/QC programs, and supporting the Energy Control and Safety Program.


• Manage punch lists, troubleshoot field engineering issues, and oversee start-up and commissioning activities.


• Collaborate with project teams from pre-construction through commissioning and close-out to ensure successful delivery.


• Maintain strong relationships with clients and design partners while supervising trade partners and vendors.

Qualifications

Required:

• 1-3 years of commercial construction experience with large, sophisticated MEP systems.


• Proven ability to manage workforce requirements, monitor project progress, and resolve field engineering challenges.


• Experience managing construction of complex MEP infrastructure projects such as data centers, airports, or other special-use facilities.


• Strong communication and leadership skills for managing client and trade partner relationships.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.


• Familiarity with scheduling tools and QA/QC processes.
