Job summary

Jobot is seeking an MEP Estimator to support Rochester operations. The role focuses on pure estimating within commercial mechanical systems (sheet metal, piping, plumbing) and backs into mentoring junior estimators while collaborating across offices on diverse project types.

This backfill position offers cross-training and knowledge transfer, reporting to the Chief Estimator and aligning with the estimating function to elevate accuracy and efficiency on high-value projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of pure estimating experience within commercial MEP environments.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems (sheet metal, piping, plumbing).
• Experience on projects ranging from several million to $100M.
• Background in a commercial mechanical contractor environment (preferred over GC estimating).
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and offices.
• Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial MEP projects (sheet metal, piping, plumbing).
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate budgets.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support bid strategy.
• Participate in multi-office estimating efforts as needed.
• Mentor and support junior estimators.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.
