Job summary

LeoForce seeks a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC design in Krugerville, TX. You will develop detailed schematics, piping layouts, and ductwork using CAD tools, and perform heating and cooling load calculations.

Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and contractors, you will ensure designs meet local codes and energy standards, participate in site visits and commissioning, and help deliver safe, efficient building systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required to sign off on plans or active EIT.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit BIM; strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC schematics, piping layouts, and ductwork using CAD.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations to select equipment.
• Ensure designs meet local codes, energy standards (ASHRAE), and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to integrate systems.
• Conduct site visits, inspect installations, and perform commissioning to verify performance.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Engineering: Develop detailed HVAC schematics, piping layouts, and ductwork designs using CAD software.
• Load Calculations: Perform heating and cooling load calculations (e.g., HVAC loads, energy modeling) to select appropriate equipment.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs meet local building codes, energy standards (e.g., ASHRAE), and safety regulations.
• Collaboration: Work with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to integrate systems seamlessly into building structures.
• Site Evaluation & Commissioning: Conduct site visits, inspect installations, and perform system testing/commissioning to ensure performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required for signing off on plans or active Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
• Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD, Revit (BIM)nderstanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
