CEC is seeking an MEP Electrical Intern to gain hands-on experience in designing electrical systems for commercial construction and renovation projects. You will collaborate with licensed engineers and multidisciplinary professionals to contribute to real-world projects and develop technical knowledge.

The role emphasizes problem solving, accuracy, and proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP, with a typical 40-hour workweek in a well-supported team environment.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in civil engineering from ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • English language skills: ability to read and interpret documents, write simple correspondence and present information.
  • Mathematical skills: basic algebra, geometry, trigonometry.
  • Proficient PC skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency preferred.
  • Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of licensed professional engineer, develops electrical engineering studies, plans, specs, calculations, evaluations, design documents for commercial facilities.
  • Uses AutoCAD, Revit MEP and other MEP-specific tools to create detailed designs for construction documents.
  • Participates in and ensures QC/QA procedures are followed; maintains design standards.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures; performs other duties as assigned.
