Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Drafter to join our design and project support team in Newark, NJ.

The Drafter will convert design concepts and sketches into accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical construction projects, working closely with Project Managers, engineers, and architects. You will prepare comprehensive shop drawings using AutoCAD MEP and Revit, perform clash-detection with Navisworks, and ensure drawings meet codes and project requirements.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of drafting experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trades.
• Proficient in AutoCAD MEP or Revit; Navisworks/SysQue a plus.
• Ability to read complex commercial blueprints and specifications.
• Willingness to work on-site at Newark, NJ headquarters.
• Strong English communication and collaboration with PMs and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive 2D shop drawings and coordinated 3D mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork models from architectural and engineering plans.
• Utilize AutoCAD MEP and Revit to draft highly accurate spatial layouts for commercial new construction projects.

Summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Drafter to join our design and project support team. The Drafter will work closely with Project Managers, engineers, and architects to prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings for mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for converting design concepts, sketches, and specifications into high‑quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support construction planning and execution. The ideal candidate will be highly detail‑oriented, technically proficient, and capable of collaborating across disciplines to ensure drawings meet applicable codes, industry standards, and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive 2D shop drawings and coordinated 3D mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork models from architectural and engineering plans.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of dedicated drafting experience specifically within the plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trade.
• Software Mastery: Proficient in AutoCAD MEP or Revit. Experience with Navisworks or SysQue is a major plus.
• Technical Literacy: Ability to read and accurately interpret complex commercial architectural, structural, and MEP engineering blueprints.
• Location Fit: Ability to work full-time, on-site at our Newark, NJ headquarters.
• Collaboration: Strong English communication skills to sync effectively with project managers and participate in trade coordination updates

Compensation

• $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 / year (Paid Weekly Baseline: Approx. $1,346.15 - $1,442.31 / week)
