Haddad Plumbing & Heating Inc. is seeking a Drafter to join the design and project support team in Newark. You will prepare accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical construction by converting concepts, sketches, and specs into precise models.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient in AutoCAD MEP and Revit, and capable of collaborating across disciplines to meet codes and project requirements. Full-time, on-site with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of drafting experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trades.
• Ability to read and interpret complex architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Strong English communication and collaboration with PMs and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D shop drawings and coordinated 3D models for mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork.
• Draft layouts using AutoCAD MEP and Revit for commercial new construction.
• Run clash-detection workflows with Navisworks to resolve spatial conflicts.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and field supervisors to update technical submittals.
• Maintain digital drawing logs, revisions, and BIM coordination files.

Summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Drafter to join our design and project support team. The Drafter will work closely with Project Managers, engineers, and architects to prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings for mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for converting design concepts, sketches, and specifications into high‑quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support construction planning and execution. The ideal candidate will be highly detail‑oriented, technically proficient, and capable of collaborating across disciplines to ensure drawings meet applicable codes, industry standards, and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive 2D shop drawings and coordinated 3D mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork models from architectural and engineering plans.
• Utilize AutoCAD MEP and Revit to draft highly accurate spatial layouts for commercial new construction projects.
• Run automated clash-detection workflows using Navisworks to flag and resolve spatial conflicts before fabrication.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and field supervisors to integrate real‑world feedback into technical submittals.
• Organize and maintain digital drawing logs, project revisions, and BIM coordination files.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of dedicated drafting experience specifically within the plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trade.
• Software Mastery: Proficient in AutoCAD MEP or Revit. Experience with Navisworks or SysQue is a major plus.
• Technical Literacy: Ability to read and accurately interpret complex commercial architectural, structural, and MEP engineering blueprints.
• Location Fit: Ability to work full-time, on-site at our Newark, NJ headquarters.
• Collaboration: Strong English communication skills to sync effectively with project managers and participate in trade coordination updates

Compensation

• $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 / year (Paid Weekly Baseline: Approx. $1,346.15 - $1,442.31 / week)
