Job summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Drafter to join our design and project support team in Newark, NJ.

You will convert design concepts into precise 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork systems, supporting construction planning and execution. You will collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and architects, ensuring drawings meet codes and project requirements while maintaining BIM logs and coordination files.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of dedicated drafting experience within plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trades.
• Proficient in AutoCAD MEP or Revit; Navisworks or SysQue is a major plus.
• Ability to read and interpret complex commercial architectural, structural, and MEP blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D shop drawings and 3D mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork models from plans.
• Draft spatial layouts using AutoCAD MEP and Revit for commercial construction.
• Run Navisworks clash-detection workflows to flag conflicts before fabrication.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and field supervisors to incorporate feedback into submittals.
• Organize and maintain digital drawing logs, revisions, and BIM files.
