Job summary
Grumman|Butkus Associates in Evanston, IL seeks a design engineer (Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection/Electrical) for full-time employment. You will develop design drawings, perform load calculations, size systems, select equipment, and complete field surveys while coordinating with multiple disciplines.
As you gain project experience, you will lead design tasks, write specifications, and support construction and commissioning activities.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited engineering degree required (Mechanical/Plumbing/FP/Electrical).
- EIT certification is a plus.
- Internship in MEP consulting is preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
- Fundamental knowledge of building systems.
Responsibilities
- Designing/drafting for projects.
- Performing load calculations.
- Determining system sizing and layouts.
- Calculating equipment sizes.
- Selecting equipment.
- Completing field surveys.
- Reviewing equipment shop drawings.
- Coordinating with Electrical/Plumbing/FP disciplines.
- Lead design assignments, write specifications, participate in meetings, and support construction/commissioning as experience grows.
