Advanced Giga Inc. designs, fabricates, and deploys modular data center infrastructure for hyperscale operators. Our flagship products, the MDH (Modular Data Hall), MTCS (Modular Technology Cooling System), and MES (Modular Energy Server), are factory-built, tested, and commissioned before they ever leave our facility. We are not a general contractor. We are an engineering-led manufacturer that owns the full lifecycle: design, fabrication, controls integration, factory acceptance testing, delivery, and on-site commissioning.
We are a small, high-impact team where your decisions directly shape outcomes on programs worth tens of millions of dollars. If you have spent your career inside large organizations and are looking for a place where your experience actually gets used, not diluted across layers of bureaucracy, this is it.
The Role
AGI is hiring an MEP Commissioning Superintendent to lead field execution of commissioning: the hands-on counterpart to our Commissioning and Testing Lead. The Lead owns the procedures, the client witness process, and the program; the Superintendent runs the floor. You will supervise AGI commissioning technicians and vendor startup engineers through pre-functional checklists, energization, loop checks, and functional testing during FAT at our fabrication shop in South Texas, then during SAT and commissioning at the client site in the Greater Cincinnati area.
The first campaign this role must carry is a two-month commissioning window at the end of 2026: multiple module sets delivered and commissioned back to back. That takes a superintendent who plans the day, clears the blockers, keeps crews safe around energized equipment, and closes punch items faster than they appear.
Location: Florence, KY (Greater Cincinnati / CVG area) or South Texas (McAllen area), with travel between the two. Full-time, on-site.
What You Will Actually Do
- Run daily commissioning field execution at the fabrication shop (FAT) and client site (SAT/commissioning): crew assignments, work sequencing, and completion tracking against the commissioning schedule
- Supervise AGI commissioning technicians and coordinate vendor and factory startup engineers, subcontractor testing crews (NETA), and the fabrication partner's trades
- Drive pre-functional checklist (L1-L3) completion: installation verification, point-to-point checks, instrument loop checks, and mechanical readiness ahead of startup
- Own safe energization and startup execution: LOTO, switching plans, NFPA 70E safe work practices, and permit-to-work discipline during L4 startup
- Lead L5 functional performance testing execution with the controls, electrical, and mechanical engineers: sequences of operation, redundancy scenarios, and integrated system tests
- Support the mechanical startup scope: flushing and cleanliness verification with AGI's flushing skid, hydrostatic testing, glycol fill and venting, and first runs of pumps and cooling equipment
- Manage punch list and deficiency closure velocity: identification, ownership, resolution, and verification in the commissioning platform (CxAlloy or similar)
- Assemble the field turnover records that feed each module's commissioning and quality documentation package
- Enforce safety leadership across the commissioning crew: stand-downs, hazard removal, and safe-work-practice audits
- Report daily progress, blockers, and lookaheads to the Commissioning and Testing Lead, and recover schedule when testing slips
Who You Are
- 10+ years of MEP field experience with a trade foundation (industrial electrician, pipefitter, or controls technician path welcome), including 3+ years supervising startup or commissioning crews
- Direct commissioning or startup experience in mission-critical facilities, industrial plants, or turnaround environments: checklists, loop checks, energization, functional testing
- Working knowledge across all three disciplines: electrical (one-lines, switchgear, VFDs, testing), mechanical (piping, pumps, hydronic startup), and controls (I/O checkout, loop checks)
- LOTO and NFPA 70E safe-work-practice fluency with a record of incident-free energization campaigns
- Able to read one-line diagrams, P&IDs, schematics, and control narratives
- Documentation discipline: completed checklists, test records, punch lists, and turnover packages that stand up to client review
- Commissioning platform literacy (CxAlloy, Procore, Bluebeam or similar) and schedule literacy (Primavera P6)
- Leadership presence with trade crews: able to direct, train, and hold the line on quality and safety
- Able to travel between the South Texas shop and the Greater Cincinnati client site and work on site for the full commissioning campaign
Preferred (Not Required)
- Hyperscale data center commissioning experience (L1-L5), especially cooling and hydronic systems or liquid cooling
- NETA testing exposure and protective-device testing familiarity
- SIS or PLC loop check and DCS/BMS point verification experience
- TDLR electrical license or equivalent trade credential; OSHA 30
- Bilingual English/Spanish (our fabrication partner's shop floor operates primarily in Spanish)
- Modular or prefabricated system commissioning (the factory-test-then-ship model)
What We Offer
- Comprehensive benefits package including insurance and 401K match
- Performance bonus tied to program delivery milestones
- Direct impact on a high-growth company at the intersection of manufacturing and critical infrastructure
- Ownership of your domain: you set the processes, you build the relationships, you drive the outcomes
- A technical leadership team that speaks your language (engineering-led company, not sales-led)
