Job summary

Thorson Baker & Associates, Inc. is seeking a CAD Technician to prepare detailed drawings and models for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, and electrical systems. You will apply and maintain company AutoCAD and Revit standards across drafting and modeling work.

You will review and back-check completed work for accuracy and quality, collaborating directly with engineers to develop, coordinate, and revise project drawings. Strong attention to detail required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent professional experience as required by the role (associate degree or 3+ years).
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiar with drafting and modeling practices, interpreting markups and converting redlines into final documents.
• Demonstrates strong work ethic, attention to detail, and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Willingness to work additional hours beyond 40 hours per week when needed to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings and models for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, and electrical systems from redline markups.
• Apply and maintain AutoCAD and Revit standards across all drafting and modeling work.
• Review and back-check completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Collaborate directly with engineers to develop, coordinate, and revise project drawings and models.
• Provide general project support such as copying, scanning, filing, printing, emailing, and organizing project plans and documents for shipment.
