Mattituck-Laurel Veterinary Hospital, part of National Veterinary Associates, is offering a veterinary externship. The position provides exposure to a busy mixed animal practice on Long Island, mentoring by a team of specialists, and opportunities to work with shelters and clients.

externs will gain hands-on experience in histories, exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgical observation/assistance, with a travel/living stipend available.

Qualifications

• Veterinary students in clinical portion of their education.
• Gathers histories, performs exams, develops treatment plans, and assists with diagnostics and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Create treatment plans, perform diagnostics and dentistry, observe or assist in surgeries, and manage patient care.
