Job summary

A leading veterinary practice located on the North Fork of Long Island is seeking Veterinary Externs to join their busy mixed animal practice. This externship provides hands-on experience under the mentorship of skilled veterinarians, allowing students to engage with diverse cases and practice clinical skills, including diagnostics and treatment planning. Eligible veterinary students will also receive a stipend to assist with travel and living expenses during their internship.

Qualifications

• Participation in clinical education with hands-on experience.
• Opportunity to work with a diverse range of cases.
• Experience in gathering patient histories and performing physical exams.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain clinical experience.
• Assist in the creation of treatment plans and medical management of patients.
• Observe/assist in performing surgical procedures.
