Job summary

The DREAM Program is seeking a Mentor Coordinator to support Youth Service Managers and recruit/train volunteer mentors across college campuses. You will help advance the Village Mentoring model and ensure mentees receive holistic support.

The role emphasizes a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within a dynamic AmeriCorps team. You will work 10–15 hours weekly, with evening meetings, trainings, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.A. due to AmeriCorps requirements.
  • Be at least 17 years of age at the start of service.
  • Agree to NSOPW checks, State repository checks, and FBI fingerprint-based history checks.
  • Current Chair for DREAM at a Northern Vermont Chapter.
  • Commitment to the entire service term.
  • Commitment to the mission of AmeriCorps and DREAM.
  • Desire to serve diverse communities with respect and inclusion.
  • Access to a reliable phone.

Responsibilities

  • Support youth through the Village Mentoring program and ensure mentors understand their roles.
  • Coordinate with Youth Services Manager to assess mentee needs and foster partnership among community, staff and mentors.
  • Provide resources and training to mentors for high-quality mentoring experiences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with mentors and mentees in the chapter.
  • Attend weekly Village Mentoring programs and participate in team meetings.
  • Serve for the full academic year and engage in ongoing trainings.
