Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL, seeks a Mental Health Worker Inpatient for the Emergency Department Behavioral Health Pods. Part-Time, Days, 7a-7:30p schedule. The role includes assisting with ADLs, supporting the care team, and maintaining a safe environment.

Must hold a valid CNA license or have relevant hospital MH work experience; BLS within 30 days; prior MH experience preferred. Sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid CNA license issued by the State.
• If not a CNA, at least one year experience as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

Shift: Part-Time; Days; 7a-7:30p

Facility: Mercy Medical Center

Location: Aurora, IL

Responsibilities

Mental Health Worker Inpatient: Under the direction and supervision of the RN, LVN or Charge RN assist the licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care including assistance with activities of daily living. Supports the unit functions and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and co-workers; functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team and communicates pertinent patient information to the supervising RN. Performs some clerical duties as assigned and provides basic nursing care for the adult and geriatric patients. Performs responsibilities within the guidelines of the Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing Policy and state regulatory and accrediting requirements.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Must have current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State if a CNA. If not a CNA, a minimum of one year experience working as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting preferred.
• BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• One (1) year prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
