National Psychiatric Care and Rehabilitation Services seeks a Mental Health Worker to provide hands-on support to residents in Vallejo. The role emphasizes safety monitoring, ADL support, and therapeutic milieu engagement under clinical standards.
Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, CPR/First Aid, and crisis intervention training. 1–3 years of direct care experience preferred, with knowledge of Title 22/9 requirements and strong communication skills.
The Mental Health Worker (MHW) provides direct, hands-on support and supervision to residents of the NPCRS Adult Residential Facility (ARF) / Crisis Residential Program (CRP) in Vallejo. This is an unlicensed direct care role responsible for resident safety monitoring, activities of daily living (ADL) support, therapeutic milieu engagement, and observational documentation consistent with NPCRS clinical standards and applicable Title 22 and Title 9 regulatory requirements.
This is a hands-on, front-line role requiring patience, sound judgment, and genuine compassion for adults living with serious mental illness, co-occurring conditions, and acute psychiatric crisis. The MHW is often the staff member with the most direct, sustained contact with residents during a shift and plays a central role in maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
The MHW reports administratively to the Program Director and receives on-shift clinical and programmatic direction from the LVN, LPT, or Clinical Team on duty. The MHW works closely with nursing and clinical staff to support each resident's needs and service plan and to promptly identify and report changes in condition, behavior, or safety.
