Job summary

Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute is seeking a PRN/Per Diem Mental Health Technician and Driver for our Outpatient services. The role provides direct patient care and transportation to patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders, supporting the therapeutic milieu and patient safety.

Responsibilities include monitoring progress, coordinating with treatment teams, transporting patients, maintaining documentation, and upholding ethics and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High school, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Healthcare environment preferred.
• Licenses: Valid Texas Driver License; good driving record; CPR certification; Management of Assaultive Behavior training required before patient care.

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning by monitoring patient progress and communicating observations to the treatment team.
• Maintains communication with patient, family, and referral sources.
• Co-facilitates educational and community groups for adolescents in treatment.
• Supervises patients to ensure safety and engagement in treatment and during transport.
• Maintains therapeutic milieu and enforces behavior management methods.
• Maintains documentation for patient, program, department, and hospital operations.
• Transports patients to/from hospital or other locations in a van or bus; completes transport reports.
