Job summary

Think Aksarben seeks a Mental Health Therapist to perform psychiatric and mental health evaluations and to guide non-licensed staff within the team. You will deliver behavioral health services and contribute to individualized treatment planning.

The role involves collaboration with healthcare staff, crisis intervention when required, and ensuring patient privacy and high-quality care. Bachelor-level social work is preferred; MS/PhD options welcomed, with relevant licenses.

Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY:

The Mental Health Therapist provides specialized knowledge and skills to adequately perform psychiatric and mental health evaluations and assessments. This role provides guidance for the work distribution of non-licensed mental health staff that are assigned under his/her team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provide behavioral health services, such as talk therapy to individuals representing a broad range of mental health symptoms and associated functional impairment concerns.
• Perform evaluations and assessments to evaluate patients’ mental health and develop individual treatment plans based on patients’ individual needs.
• Practice in collaboration with staff to manage patient care.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of mental health care management, principles and implications of standards for quality of care, quality measurement, monitoring, and related features of today’s healthcare environment.
• Skill in communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
• Skill in planning, organizing, and time management.
• Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
• Skill in managing multiple priorities and problem solving.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet established goals and objectives.
• Ability to maintain high levels of professional and personal integrity.
• Ability to convey professional demeanor and sound judgment in dealing with patients’ care, protection of patient privacy, and confidentiality.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Degree in Social Work strongly preferred but would also consider a master’s degree from an accredited educational in Counseling or other related Behavioral Health Field. Acceptable licenses include LCSW, LISW, LIMHP, PhD, PsyD.
