Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System seeks a Student Intern for its mental health internship program at Horizons Mental Health Center. The role supports counseling, behavioral health, and human services through outpatient treatment and supervision within a not-for-profit Kansas network.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of various theoretical treatments and practice applications.
• Ability to work with a wide range of ages and life circumstances.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn, understand and utilize various telehealth and documentation software.

Responsibilities

• Provides outpatient behavioral health treatment with supervision to include individual, family and group therapy.
• Collaborates to develop effective treatment plans reflecting individual needs.
• Completes intakes, diagnostic assessments, and mental status exams.
• Implements medically necessary treatment services and clinical determination of Level of Care.
• Crisis assessment and safety planning with other staff.
• Care coordination with consumers, families and treatment teams.
• Engages with different departments to learn and apply services.
• Documents service provisions timely and accurately in records.
• Completes trainings and competency reviews as assigned.
• Participates in weekly supervision with placement supervisor.
• Demonstrates commitment to therapy skills and evidence-based practices.
