Mental Health Therapist
Responsibilities
- Conduct a thorough, accurate, clinically sound Psychosocial Assessment with the individual in a timely manner.
- Maintain the clinic record, including documentation of activities performed as part of the service delivery process, and obtain signatures from patient regarding treatment, as necessary.
- Provide internal education regarding DBT, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and service plan documentation.
- Prepare clinical reports and individualized service plans utilizing agency electronic clinical documentation software, ensuring compliance with best clinical practices, contracts, regulatory and other legal requirements.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the Arizona Department of Health Services and Arizona Board of Behavioral Health roles within the Arizona behavioral health system.
- Conduct brief intervention, individual, family and group counselling within scope of practice, participating in redirecting individual behavior while maintaining a safe milieu when necessary.
- Arrange for referral and placement of individuals in other community substance abuse programs, housing, or employment opportunities.
- Provide case management services to promote recovery and community reintegration, conducting crisis interventions and follow up as necessary.
- Follow up with appropriate leadership regarding all cases on a weekly basis.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with clients and determine and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
- Unrestricted license as Licensed Mental Health Professional in Arizona (LMSW, LAC, LCSW, LMFT, LPC or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in mental health, substance abuse treatment or relevant work providing psychotherapy to both individuals and groups in a clinical or behavioral health setting.
- Knowledge of principles of recovery, family of origin/intergenerational issues, and co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
- Knowledge and experience working with special populations (serious mental illness, substance abuse diagnoses, brain injuries and those over 60 years of age).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Shift Differentials
- $2/hr Monday-Thursday Nights
- $3/hr Friday-Sunday Nights
- $2/hr Saturday-Sunday Days
