Mental Health Therapist, Contractor - NC / Remote

Join Cartwheel as a Mental Health Therapist, Contractor - NC / Remote and help address the student mental health crisis. We are an early-stage startup building technology-enabled mental health services centered on schools, supporting on-campus counselors, psychologists, and social workers to provide earlier intervention, increased engagement, and better coordination.

Role Details:

• Position: 1099 independent contractor (10-20 hours/week)
• Location: 100% remote
• Start date: Rolling from Early 2025

Responsibilities:

• Provide mental health assessments and teletherapy to students in K-12 in partner districts
• Collaborate with school staff and families to support student mental health
• Offer psychoeducation and support to caregivers
• Coordinate with medical and external referral teams
• Participate in case discussions and contribute to program development

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
• Active independent license in NC (LCMHC, LMFT, LCSW, Psychologist)
• Experience with telehealth and evidence-based therapies (CBT, DBT, etc.)
• Strong tech skills and reliable internet (50 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload)
• Availability during and after school hours (3-8 pm ET)

Extra credits for bilingual abilities, additional credentials, or relevant experience in short-term care models.
