Job Title: Mental Health Therapist Bilingual

Division/Program: Star View Teammates - Early Psychosis Intervention

Starting Compensation: $73,316.25 - $78,718.50 USD Per Year

Working Location: Torrance, CA

Working Hours/Shift: Mon - Fri: 8 AM - 5 PM (Flexible Scheduling)

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications)
  • Master's degree in a Mental Health, Human Services, or closely related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the mental health field, with direct service experience with severely emotionally disturbed families/children; experience with high-risk families/children. Experience should be with children or adolescents with dual diagnosis in residential or outpatient settings.
  • MHS II: Registered with CA BBS as an MFT Intern or ASW.
  • MHS III: Licensed in California as LMFT or LCSW.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
How you will make a difference (job overview):

This position is primarily responsible for providing mental health and case management services to adolescents and their families. The Mental Health Specialist (MHS) offers assessment, evaluation, individual and family therapy, collateral work, crisis intervention, skill-building, and treatment planning. Acts as a liaison with external agencies and collaborates with team members. Attends Child & Family Team meetings and may pursue additional training as needed.

Division/Program Overview:
  • Community-Based and Family Centered programs.
  • Offers Wraparound, Intensive Field Capable Clinical Services (IFCCS), and Outreach Triage services across the county.
  • Provides 24-hour referral intake and crisis intervention services.
  • Focuses on SED children and adolescents.
  • Client and family-driven with collaboration and mutual agreements.
  • Contracts with DMH, Child Protected Services, and Probation.

In accordance with California law, the grade for this position ranges from $68,640.00 to $98,178.07. Placement is based on experience, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
