Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing direct counseling services to individuals, couples, and groups.

Responsibilities
  • Provides counseling services to individuals, couples, and groups.
  • Provides counseling services to staff, faculty, and administrators.
  • Provides crisis counseling as needed.
  • Obtains clinical supervision when needed or required by licensure.
  • Administers and interprets assessments to aid in the delivery of services with special attention to risk assessments for self-harm and harm to others.
  • Maintains timely, accurate, and professional documentation.
  • Participates in case conferences and case presentations.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of mental health student programming.
  • Works with the college community to develop counseling programs to meet campus needs.
  • Evaluates services provided.
  • Serves on college committees.
  • Engages in professional service to campus community.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Educational Requirements: Masters degree in a related field required.
  • Other Required Qualifications: Possession of or ability to readily obtain state professional counseling licensure; must hold LPC, LCSW, LMSW, or other equivalent license. If holding an LMSW, must be in clinical supervision working toward LCSW licensure. Must provide supervisor name, clinical hours, and supervision hours completed.
  • Required Experience: More than one year of related experience.

  • Knowledge: College policies and procedures; computers and job-related software; University System of Georgia policies; health and wellness programs; counseling theory, techniques, approaches, and best practices; mental health issues.
  • Skills: Decision making and problem solving; completion of reports; oral and written communication.
Compensation

Minimum annual salary $49,700.
