Description

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking aMental Health Tech Trainerto join our Residential Treatment Program. The Mental Health Tech Trainerensures that Mental Health Technicians receive needed training to provide effective therapeutic trauma-informed care in the milieu. This position is responsible for assisting the Residential Training Supervisor with coordinating, developing, delivering, and evaluating new Mental Health Technicians during the orientation period through on-the-job training. When on a unit, serving and coaching as a Mental Health Technician, modeling best-practice methods. This position will also train and coach current Mental Health Technicians on quality assurance checks and post incident response follow up; participate in camera review of restraints; and provide CPI training. Administrative duties include scheduling and completion of new team member signoffs.

Schedule:Full-time, Non-Exempt (Monday - Friday, 1pm - 9pm)

Shift Differentials:Added to base rate when working the below hours

• 2nd Shift(3p - 11p):$1.50/hr
• 3rd Shift(11p - 7a):$1.00/hr
• Weekends(Fri, 3pm - Mon, 6:59am):$0.50/hr

What you'll do:

• Provideorientation activities to new hires as they transition to direct care.
• Provideone-on-one direct scheduled coaching with each assigned trainee.
• Teachnew team members prevention expectations and de-escalation methods.
• Assessthe knowledge, skills, and abilities of trainees, and provides further coaching as needed.
• Provide continuous support and feedback to ensure positive acclimation.
• Traincurrent team members as indicated based on quality assurance checks and post incident response follow up.
• LeadCPI training and coaching.

Qualifications

Who you are:

• You have a high school diploma, or GED; bachelor's degree preferred.
• You have twoyears of mental health experience.
• You are preferably a CPI instructor (Will be required and provided by the organization)
• You have previous leadership experience.
• You have an active driver's license and proof of car insurance.
