Job description

Mental Health Technician - Residential Units, Second Shift

Join Rogers Behavioral Health as a Mental Health Technician - Residential Units, Second Shift.

Benefits: $1,000 New Employee Retention Bonus (for employees with less than six months at Rogers).

Locations include West Allis, Brown Deer (Second Shift), Oconomowoc (Second Shift, Overnight, PRN). Must attend a two-week New Hire Orientation, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.

The role involves active participation in the treatment team, providing patient care, supervision, interaction, de-escalation, and modeling.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist with activities of daily living, interact with patients, attend to needs, and support during crises.
  • Transport patients for appointments, community outings, and support off-site visits.
  • Ensure safe medication observation and administration, following medication safety rights.
  • Train and mentor new and existing team members.
  • Support therapeutic care, lead groups, and facilitate therapies like CBT, DBT, and ERP.
  • Respond to emergencies and monitor patient behavior, documenting progress.
  • Maintain safety, environment, and milieu management, including safety rounds and infection control.
  • Handle patient admissions, discharges, and orientation, including documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including ongoing education and participation in committees.
Education & Training Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18+ years old; 2+ years older than residents on adolescent units.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Training Provided:
  • CPR certification within 30 days.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within 60 days.
  • CBRF training within 90 days.
  • Supervised Traineeship (160 hours).
  • Medication Administration Certification within 90 days.
