Job summary

HCA Florida West Hospital in Pensacola is seeking a Mental Health Technician PRN to support nursing and psychiatric care within a multidisciplinary team. You will observe, document, and respond to patients' physiological and psychological status using the nursing process and hospital policies.

You will assist with activities of daily living, support crisis intervention, advocate for patient privacy, and help maintain safe and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, associate degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Observe, report, and document patient’s status using the nursing process and hospital policies.
• Provide and document information on patient care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and crisis intervention as needed.
• Serve as patient/family advocate to protect privacy and confidentiality.
• Follow guidelines for reporting significant medical events or adverse outcomes.

Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Mental Health Technician to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is to assist in the coordination of nursing/psychiatric care provided in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative manner.

In this role you will:

• Observe, report, and document patient’s physiological and psychological status by using the nursing process based upon established hospital policies and procedures, unit specific policies and procedures, and/or Standards of Care/Practice.
• Provide and document information on patient care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living; attend to patient behavioral problems and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as needed.
• Serve as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patients right to privacy by protecting confidential information.
• Follow established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm or potential harm.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2 Year Associates Degree preferred
• BLS within 90 days of employment required
• One year of experience preferred
