Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare Incorporated is seeking a dedicated healthcare associate to support the mission and care for patients within a mental health program. The role requires assisting in basic patient care, documenting status and following unit policies under licensed nursing supervision.

Responsibilities include promoting teamwork, managing supplies, and supporting group activities and performance improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Human Services-Mental Health or other behavioral science.
• Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program including but not limited to Social Work, Nursing, Recreational Therapy and Psychology.
• Minimum of 1 year of mental health or related healthcare experience, for example, as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing basic and routine care for patients under supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
• Document patient status per program policies.
• Promote teamwork with physicians, case managers, nurses and other departments.
• Manage department supplies and equipment within budgetary limits.
• Support organization and completion of therapeutic groups as scheduled.
• Maintain competency notebook and participate in program education services.
• Attend mandatory annual education updates.
• Contribute to continuous Performance Improvement processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
