Under supervision of the RN, the Mental Health Technician (MHT) observes and records patient information, assists with admissions and discharges, maintains patient observation, leads patient education and activity groups, and assists nursing staff with vital signs and ADLs. This role involves high patient interaction and requires responsiveness to various situations, including medical and behavioral incidents.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) preferred where required by state
• Current BLS certification required
• Crisis management certification per hospital policy required
• Experience in a hospital or similar setting preferred but not required
