Job summary

Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital in Marysville, WA, is hiring a Mental Health Technician (MHT). You will provide continuous supervision, support, and positive role modeling to patients from adolescents to geriatrics, under RN guidance. In this role you will help maintain a therapeutic environment and assist with daily living activities.

The position offers weekday overnight and weekend shift differentials. Relevant CNA/NAR certification and WA credentialing are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. CNA/NAR required.
• One year of related experience preferred, with psychiatric care knowledge.
• Agency Affiliated Counselor registration in WA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs accurately and report changes to RN.
• Exercise judgment in patient interactions and follow treatment plans.
• Lead MHT-led groups and use CPI techniques.
• Assist patients through discharge and support life adjustments.
• Assist with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Comply with safety policies and universal precautions.

Agency Affiliated Counselor registration in the state of Washington is preferred.Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques, and an understanding of mental illness, is preferred.Additional Skill Requirements: May be required to work flexible hours.
