Canyon Creek Behavioral Health, part of the Universal Health Services family, seeks a Mental Health Technician to join the inpatient treatment team in Temple, Texas. You will provide continuous patient care, supervision, and role modeling under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities include following treatment interventions, noting changes in patients, and promptly communicating with the charge nurse to support care plans. Weekend and evening shifts may be required.

The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescents through geriatrics. All MHT's work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year(s) of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Licensure: None
Additional Requirements: Successful completion Handle with Care Training, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required. Certifications must be obtained during new hire orientation. MHT's may be required to work weekends, overtime, nights, and have flexible hours.
